Default Great job on the install but...

why put the S8 badge on an A8? Why not just leave the badge off? I get the whole update look but not the badge thing. I saw a MBZ S550 with the "0" removed the other day and thought to myself what a "poser" the guy is/was. I have a 07 S8 and just don't get adding badges to cars thingy....

Default FWIW - a "quattro" badge fits..... I tested it on mine before I modified my W12 badge to fit

The car looks great by the way other then that minor detail ! Nice work !

Same reason many Corvette owners put L82 badges on their vehicles; because they can. Besides, in the case of D3 Audis, about how many people in all of North Ameica will really notice; 1000?

If I were to install the big grille, I'd go with the S8 version and at least an S-Line badge. Or, why not go full tilt and make mine the only S8L on the planet? V10 badges for both front fenders too!

Call me a poser, LOL! After all, I sure am an Audi A8L demographic reject!

Correct, you said poser in your post above. Did you mean "loser"?

<<<<< Do I?

I do think it's a bit ridiculous to put a badge on a car that the car is not. If you want one, buy one. At the very least, don't put the badge on it. Those 1000 people you mention are exactly the 1000 people who are going to know you are a "poser" (or as you say "loser")....

I would ask folks a general question:

When you see a car with a badge that does not belong, what is your reaction to the car?

Default my reaction:

Cool, someone took the time to re-engineer the badging on their car.

I guess that would be the same as someone taking the time to change the front clip on their car to make it appear as a different model or model year.

The only one I never understood is badge removal. But, to each their own.
