Default Coming from an S4 going into either an A8 or 750i. Help?

I test drove the BMW 750i last night and let me tell you, what a car. Everything on the car seemed 20 years ahead of my B6S4. The interior space was also a big thing for me, as Im always cramming people in my S4, the 750 was borderline gigantic, with the seats all the way in "pimp" position, I still had tons of space on the backseat (I'm 6'2) and this wasnt even the L version.

I havent driven the A8 yet but have been inside, also nice and spacious but something about the BMW gives me a feel that it's a newer car.

So the question is, is there a "D4" A8 in the makes? The current A8 has already gone through a bit of a facelift (but then again, so has the BMW), is there a new model in the future?

Mind you, I'm asking because I was one of the first to buy the B6S4 only to have the B7 launched a year after, needless to say, I was pretty upset at Audi. Any comments regarding the BMW vs. Audi?? Aside from Quattro? Can I get the fridge on the Audi?

Default yes to the fridge on the audi. to me the question is rear vs. all wheel drive.

I like to burn a little rubber now and again, and with quattro it aint going to happen. Conversely, the cat-on-a-rug traction is nice for laying down gobs of power exiting a wet corner.

I'd personally like to see you buy the 750i.

Only if he would keep his AW ID and then post his 750i experience here.

Default Didn't the 750i get launched a year or so after the 745i...?

...and it looks a lot better than the 745 and has a more powerful motor too. Think how the folks that bought 745s must feel...

Default Skip the BMW unless you love the dealer - you'll be there alot!

Just came out of a 2003 745iL. 36 month lease, one and one half months in the shop ***thats 1 1/2 month out of commission on a 36 month lease!***, 2-3 days at a time to "re-program" i-drive. 740 for 3 years prior to that.
I'm now very happy with my new 2006 A8 swb. Nimbler (?) and very solid, only BMW advantage might be highway long gentle curves. Love the stability of the AWD and the interior is superior to the BMW even without considering the iDrive. Dealer support for the BMW was medium to poor (nice building). Dealer support for the new Audi is fantastic (old building, old dealership but now with new owners). Stoddard in Mentor, OH is the model Audi should use to upgrade its dealer network. Great place.

Default good luck....

make sure you check every repair before you leave.

They have become extremely sloppy under their new leadership. The service advisors and manager try very hard, but the techs are horrid and actually damaged my car on more than one occassion.

Old school (Hans & Porsche Holdings) ran that place with German efficiency & service.
