Hmm... from my own photos I can see the interface box coding (assuming thats whats in the brackets) is wrong. Ill look up whats normal looking for an A8..
EDIT: Can anyone confirm what they have beside "Interfacebox", eg do you have 0x0100 like I used to?

How did you get on with this? I'm in a similar boat with my A4, bricked the interfacebox, followed by the k-box when updating software to 5570. Fortunately found both online and now working again but have a rapidly increasing stack of Japanese mmi components in the spare room!
Did you manage to change the navigation over yet? Or the phone (which operates via the Japanese nav unit)?
Oh, the address you had for the interfacebox in your last post is correct.

Cant seem to edit that post so continue here.
Japanese market Audis seem to be different to the rest of the world but from reading its possible to swap out the japanese nav box with a UK or US nav box and then recode it?
Same for radio box? Japanese frequencies are narrower range.
Are nav/radio units model specific other than mounting points?

The joystick doesn't help distinguish different models if it's Japanese. Usually 2g has no joystick but 3g did. Japanese 2g has one though. High or low is easiest determined by the screen - monochrome for low, full colour for high. How much functionality do you have at the moment? .

I'm halfway through mine, just need to test the new nav unit with a DVD (which my local dealer wants $995 for!)

Japan Conversion
Also looking to do Jap conversion on a 2008 A4.
I am looking at ordering a euro k box tuner to sort out the radio.
Nav would be nice but will leave it for now.
Am having issues getting the AMI cable to work with Bluetooth adaptor. It appears the AMI connector is dead. Is there something with the Jap MMI system that might explain this?
Thanks

Someone mentioned that there may be differences in AMI between 2G and 3G. That might be the problem I have here

Hello mattsimis, hello everybody!
I have just bought a Japanese Audi A8 D3 2005 year and I am experiencing the SAME problems about changing language and so on...
Please can you help me to handle this problem?
I have read this thread and need to know what is the shortcut way of doing conversion without bricking anything?
Thank you in advance.
