Launch according to this leaked memo is October of 2009

Audi A8 (D4)

The next generation A8 hits the market six months earlier than stated by the 2012 roll out schedule. Same V8 engines are retained and new 8 speed automatic transmission is added.

Although no mention of it, the TDI engine is probably coming to the US with the D4

I believe that the ROW TDI is a V8, which is what I expect in the D4.

3.0TDI also available, probably more likely since it's already certified for Q7
