Dash Camera
Anyone here run a dash cam? After many near misses and one solid whack the other day, I'm thinking I need one. This last time, fault was pretty clear and easily attributed, thanks to the other driver being honest, but next time might not be so lucky. For my own legal defense, it seems a good idea. Trying to figure out the best way to wire one in, where to put it, and such. I can't find much on the subject, but it should be similar to wiring in radar detectors. Anyone got a good one they use with a front and rear camera? Any features anyone would recommend?

I've been looking at cameras over the past 9 months and the one that ticks all the boxes for me is BlackVue 580W-2CH with 64 gb memory.

I started running a dash camera after a person was turning right into a parking lot (out of the lane of traffic) then swung hard left in front of me in a last minute U turn. Needless to say slammed into her. Then I go a ticket for following too closely. Would have been open and shut it I had the camera! Eventually got it dismissed with evidence and witnesses, but a lot more effort than I needed. This also totaled my Rare 01 S4 Casablanca.
I run the older version of this one on my Tundra and A8L. https://smile.amazon.com/Dashcam-Dashboard-Resolution-Nighthawk-Wide-Angle/dp/B07DF8MQX1/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1545582126&sr=8-3&keywords=roav+dash+camera Pretty happy with the quality. My C1 version did not have GPS. Picked it up for $46 when it was on sale. |

I'd recommend these features: IMX291 Sony STARVIS sensor. Park mode with battery conservation and therefore... Hardwire kit. Super Capacitor rather than battery backup. SanDisk 128GB Ultra microSDXC. https://smile.amazon.com/SanDisk-128...+micro+sd+card |

That looks like a very good option. Have you used that one?

I've been using this one and it's working quite well.., the video chipsets make the image to be crisp and clear. GoPro uses Ambarella, this one uses Novatek which's second best... others use Chinese chipsets hence cheaper and less quality,
