Detailed car report
I recall someone mentioning they ordered this super detailed report with the VIN of their car. I think it was a full repair manual and all the detailed options on the car in question. Does this ring a bell? I would like one of those for my own car.

You can sign up for a one day license and then print many workshop reports. You can also obtain a detailed report of the options installed on the vehicle.
I printed all of mine as PDF's onto my laptop so that I have them accessible when working with the VCDS also.
Hope this helps.

+1. ErWin Online (https://erwin.audiusa.com/erwin/showHome.do) . Take a 1-day subscription which is just around $36, I think. I only took me roughly 2 hours with highspeed internet to download the different sections of the repair manual in PDF format. Since I still have lots of time left, I decided to download the whole repair manual for the R8 MK1 for future reference.

It says system requirements only for PC, do you need to use a PC...???
Don't see that it would make much difference using a Mac if you're only downloading service manual PDFs...???
NB: Not for cars outside USA or Canada etc...
So why have an option to put any country in...!!

You are correct in saying that a MAC or PC is OK if just dowloading PDF's. However, in ErWin, there is a tab in there called 'Offboard Diagnostic Infomation Service' which requires a PC. You won't need to access this. Just go to the 'Search' tab and search for manuals for you vehicle. If you want to be VIN specific, just enter your car's VIN number. Even without a subscription, you can do a search for the PDF documents but it won't allow you to download them. It just says 'not for vehicles outside of US and Canada' because it won't accept VIN for vehicles sold outside of US and Canada. If you do a model search instead, you will find that there are some info mixed in there for the A8 that pertains to ROW versions.
