Just out of interest, what is a full tank over there compared to UK £? I bet it’s peanuts.

In short, cosmetically excellent cars (as everybody has staff to polish their cars all day), but very poorly maintained underneath.
You're not wrong tbh, I only had dealings with one for my X5, it had a wiring issue that nobody could figure out so I had to bite the bullet and take it to the dealer... As it happens, it was only a small piece of engine wiring harness that cost $30 but like $500 in labour... I was happy tho, I got my car back working properly and their work is guaranteed obvs...
I wanted them to check another couple of issues as well but on the way back there some few days later, the power steering let go somewhere and all the fluid dropped out, the steering went stiff but I managed to get it to their workshop... I asked for their quote to fix the steering first as obvs the car was undriveable, their quote was 66,000QAR, around $18,000.... They offered me a discount which brought it down to 50,000QAR, around $13,700... Their quote list was unreal, loads of new parts, new pump, new this, new that, removal of engine components etc etc... It was like 4 pages long...!! Bearing in mind the car was 10 years old and only worth around $7k... Of course, I didn't pay it, I stuck it on a tow truck and took it to an indie german guy I'd used before, 2 second hand steering hoses and some fluid plus labour, 1200QAR, around $300...
Car was as good as it was before...
So yes, you're right, they just out to take your money and of course, the Arabs don't mind to give it...!! And yes, they're only interested in selling new cars...
Sad really but it does mean cars like mine are a steal, I paid the equivalent of around $10k for my S8, there is one for sale on US eBay, 1 year newer but twice the mileage, $26k...!!!!!!!!!!!
I will use the main dealer here for the oil changes etc on the S8, only to keep up the service book stamps but all these issues i'm currently having will be done by my indie guy...

I been here over 4 years now, when I first got here, it was 20p a litre lol...
I had a little Kia company car then, cost about 4 quid to fill up...!!
It's crept up quite a bit over those 4 years tho, think it's now closer to 40p a litre...
Not sure how many liters the S8 tank holds but it costs about 30 quid to fill it from empty...
I remember tho, before I moved here, I had a 750i E38 BMW, that used to cost me over 120 quid to fill up back then, it was like 1.50 a litre then...!!
Dunno what it is now, think it's actually come down since then...??

yeah fuel is cheaper than £1.50 these days. Diesel is around £1.20 pl for decent quality but supermarket ones are around 10p cheaper! I. Think I need to get a job in UAE just so I can drive a big engine and not break the bank.
NB Qatar was on the 10 o’clock news today re sugar tax and the issue around obesity.

I was in UAE for a while, I quite liked it there...
Little better than Qatar with a bit more to do but you can earn more money here... What to do..

Don't surprise me lol, they're a lazy bunch of so & so's...
Won't affect me, I don't eat sugar...!!
It's weird really, they have some absolutely amazing facilities here for sports and wellness...

I have a noisy driver door glass when making it go up. It's there most of the time. It never does it going down. I can't see any marks on the window tint. Any thoughts?

That didn't do it, but thanks for the suggestion!

I'm not sure what's going on. I'll pop the door panel off once it warms up a bit and see what I can do.
