i didn't watch the video , but if you have ever removed door panels before, i don't think it's a big deal. I did it in very little time and don't recall any issues. Helps to have plastic interior removal tools.

Greetings Aceler8. I’ve not only not ever removed a door panel before but have zero plastic (or any material) interior removal tools. So this is something I probably will not undertake. I might try, again, to take my car to my local mechanic and have him read a few of these invaluable posts.

Thanks again!

depending on our local mechanic....if you have one with German car experience, then yes take it there. However, if you are like me and live in a small town where German cars are odd ***** then you are better doing it your self. Most inexperienced shops do more damage then fixing.

I had a local shop here give up on our Volvo xc90 for CEL and rough running idle. I took to internet and discovered it was dirty air intake valve. Removed the intake with 4 bolts, cleaned it and remounted it. Fixed it in 30 mins for $9 of cleaner.

Good morning.

And that’s why the internet (at times) and this Forum is so great. Thank you for the suggestion. I’m on a road trip right now but in the next couple of weeks will check into it. I was also able to gently but firmly “push” the back of the panel closed and it’s staying there. Unless I have to access the seat memory functions, I might just leave it closed (at least as a temporary solution).

Best regards,
RJ52

You only have to do up to 1.44 of this video.
I think they missed out a part of the top trim that needs to be removed by pulling it off to reveal some more screws but it is EASY!!!!!! My girlfriend has done it and she is not a D.I.Yer

I’m still smiling hearing you say “I’ve been busting my ***, trying to find a link...”! I was also going to say is your girlfriend available to hire BUT that could be misinterpreted (in spite of my joking). FANTASTIC video and I thank you very much! At this point the panel pocket is sitting flush (and secure) and that’s after pulling it out to hit one of the seat settings. So...my attempt at fixing it might just be delayed until which point I will look back at your extremely thoughtful and excellent clip.

Best regards,
Jay
