Default The dreaded yellow suspension light

Hello,

the yellow light comes on once in a while but today it did just about every time I was driving. It turns off after I park it and then after driving for a few minutes it comes on.
Her is the VCDS reading.I'm hoping it's just the leveling sensor, but I can't tell which side is causing the problem.
I also noticed that it takes a certain king of weather conditions to trigger the issue.
Thank you

Did you search AW here? There are scads of factors and it's really common. Battery and suspension compressor (or PUMP, cause I get tired of typing "Compr... ) -- But if I had to guess using just the info above, I'd start with a new battery and a new pump.
Also, clear the codes and see which come back first. (assuming you didn't do that yet)

I'm going to have to disagree with Tom, first step for me is to park the car in jack mode overnight, measuring the gap between the wheel and fender all around when you park it and again in the morning to see if any corner drops overnight. If there is a drop, there is probably one that drops more than the others and that would mean that corner has a failed strut.

You mean the car battery?
That is only 2 years old.
I read lots about this issue on AW but I'm not any closer in finding the issue. It can be so many things by the looks of it.
Apparently there is also a computer module that controls the leveling. Then the sensors, etc.Too many items to check.I might have to take it in.
I'll start with the overnight jack mode measurement .Last time the light was on and turned off again, it stayed off for 2 weeks.
Now it's on every time I drive it but it starts being off.Within a km or so the light comes on.

It's the pump..... you can buy a repair kit from ebay
it's easy peasy 45min-1 hour work to take the pump off and change the parts
there you go

p.s. I've done it couple of months ago

Do you have the procedure for removing the air compressor,?
I couldn't find a more comprehensive description.

Attached and also read this: http://www.volkspage.net/technik/ssp/ssp/SSP_292.pdf

You may find the compressor rebuild helps, but it sounds like there is a leak also. Going though this also.

+1, you have a classic strut or struts leak. Figure out which one is leaking and replace. Possible burn out of your pump if it's been running to hard for a long period of time but I would start by replacing the leaking strut.

I get these problems in the winter as well. I am hoping to resolve with one of the repair kits. Luckily, though, I have only had that light once this winter so far and that was after heavy braking and sliding on a giant patch of ice on a bridge. I had no traction - slide over 250 ft - and then the light lit up. Pulled over, turned the car off, waited a moment, back on, all was well. However first on my list in that area near the wheels are replace the brake pads and replace the upper control arms which are quite noisy. ltooz has a good video on his site of him replacing his control arms. At 126,500 and I'm pretty sure they've never been replaced. Oh so much on my list...

Regards

Very good information.thank you.
Sounds like major expenses coming up if I have a leaky strut.
Not sure I can do this job since this my daily driver and I only have a cold garage.
