an economical source for injector 'O' rings ?

The Audi dealer wants $5 each for injector 'O' rings and I need 24 of them for my W12 !! Is there an OES equivalent source at a more sane price ?

If you know the size and material, you can just order them on line from all sorts of places including McMaster Carr. But I guess you'd have to know that information. Did you check online Audi parts sources?

Injector material will likely be standard, I'm sure you can find that information somewhere. Worst case, buy one O-ring from the dealer, measure it, and find the rest from another source.

Doesnt sound prudent; all rubbers are not the same (if you've ever had one break you know what I mean)...I should think the specs for heat range and solvent resistance are critical. I of course am completely ignorant on the subject, except for the a fore mentioned application, but I should think one needs 'O' rings that are specifically sold as injector 'O' rings for this application, no ?

When I ordered mine, used an aftermarket set from standard I think. If I remember I used the Standard set since my parts distributor had them. I remember ordering two sets. I'm sure the sets are for a VR6 since it's for 6 injectors.

I know right, I don't know how Rock Auto does it. I payed way more locally but better than Audi.

You're driving an $80.000 + car and now o rings are expensive? :p

awdinut 06-10-2019 07:42 PM

Actually all things considered it was a $135,000 car, but I paid a dime on the dollar for it, so rather than $5 ea for an 'O' ring I'd like to pay 50 cents ea. No matter how you look at it, $120 for 24 small 'O' rings is egregious. Its outrageous ! But if no one comes up with a source that they used with no problems in their W12, then I will play it safe and pay the Man the $120.

1. Look up part on one of the Euro Audi ETKA sites. See below.
2. Google Bosch fuel injector o-ring set. Lots of hits.
3. See this one for example. Play with calculator or google mm to inch function and I think you will get same spec from mm in ETKA to inch decimals in that listing. No idea who they are BTW: https://theinjectorshop.com/products...s-bulk-pack-50

And no, I don't think o rings are kinda sorta or all the same or... Ask the NASA guys about it...
