Engine Error Codes

I am going to take off the sensor and swap them and see if the error code moves, per the advice of Ross-Tech. But I am not sure where else to look. |
I have cleared the codes without them coming back and checked the cam sensors, which appear to be fine. I am leaning towards the G28 sensor.

The first one I think is for the engine mount, but I'm not sure which one. You can check to see if one's leaking by looking for runoff from a dark fluid beneath them.
In general, Audi's will spontaneously generate miscellaneous codes. The tolerances are tight, so everyone will seem to get random codes. Wait and see if any come back, but I wouldn't worry much about it until then. |

Engine speed sensor is in the gearbox in the flywheel zone (underneath the car). It can cause difficult warn start and no start at all later. If camshaft sensor comes back you may swap them or just replace it. If you emailed only this much to your mechanic he must have crystal ball in order to know that timing is off. |
18282 - Valve for Torque Support Mount
P1874 - 001 - Short to Plus - Intermittent This error code only happens on BFM motor cars. There is a TSB that basically says to wire in a resister to trick the ecu. Leaving it as is hurts nothing. |

That's the front right engine support, just close to the alternator. Not all A8's have that control. You may leave with it with no problem.

The correlation code would indicate a timing error. But without that code I wouldn't think it indicates a timing error.

Fooled me until I looked up a picture of a new Bosch, OEM supplier, Hall sender. https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.aud...526ac880a5.jpg If you zoom into the black part you can see the same white spots on a new part. Beyond that I am fairly certain it isn't a sensor issue as it wasn't the last time. I have yet to drive my car, only move it in the driveway, but there still aren't any error codes popping back up. As I said above with my knowledge of short to plus error codes is that they pop back up right after being powered back up or shortly after. Just as with my last timing issue, the error codes popped up I cleared them and they didn't return, but sure enough the timing was off. I have read many of the same stories that say it takes a while for the engine sensors to detect minute timing errors. |
