After looking at many pics of the A8/S8 online I am wondering how to tell if the vehicle has extended leather? What to look for in the pictures that give it away? It is hard to tell with the low res pics.
Looks like there are levels of leather options for the D3, I see the dash, center con, and for the doors the handle and nothing else or the full leather door?
W12 and S8 always have the bigger leather package. This has been an extra option to V8 and V6 models.
So there are 3 levels,
-No leather under dash/on doors, centre console: (V6 and V8 models),
-Leather on door handles and lower dash, and centre console
-Extended leather: leather on dashboard and on upper door trim
This means, the centre console, LOWER part of dashboard (below the wood trim) and the door handles have leather on them.
Then there i the extended leather package, which is NOT standard for any A8/S8, and has been a very costy package, like 5000€ when new.
This brings the leather to the TOP of the dashboard (you can see the stitchings on the dashboard, around the passanger airbag etc), AND to the TOP of the door trim (above te wood-trim, below the Windows).
Btw. I've seen one A8 D4 with plush seats, but no D3, have you seen an A8 without leather seats? They are standard on all except very low spec V6 models, and VERY rare to find an A8 without leather seats...

Good info, so the max leather are the ones with the dashboard stitching and leather on the top of the doors(border the window).

Not all S8's have the full leather package. I have personally seen quite a few without a leather dash. Most W12's have them. The one item that is rarer to come on the cars is the B&O sound system.
