Good morning folks,

I have decided to hold onto my 04 D3 and pass it onto my wife. that being said it has 43k miles on it and I am looking to get an extended warranty up to 100K. Called the dealership and to add the platinum package up to 100K is going to be 5500.00 USD is this a deal and are there any other plans out there that are not through the stealership that compare in coverage?

I bought a gold plus (couldn't get platinum since 2001 CPO car was out of original warranty) for almost half that number. Call around to different dealers, and present your dealer with the number you want.

At the time I ws annoyed with my local dealer and shopped around to others. Some had markups as high as $1200 over the $2600 my original dealer quoted. I went with my original dealer.

A nice feature was that my dealer waived the deductible if the warranty work was done at their shop.
