Facelift 2008-9 fog-lights to 2005-2007 bumper
Hi!
Wonder if anybody has replaced the round foglights from a 2005-2007 bumper with the newer square ones?
I have a cracked 2008-9 bumper with the newer lights, and found a used good 2005-2007 bumper to replace the cracked one. Wouldn't otherwise do this, but a new bumper cover is 765€ and crazy people are asking between 600-1200€ for a USED bumper, some even want more for a used than for a NEW bumper!!!
Is it feasible to take the lights, covers and maybe the fastening points from the 2008-9 bumper and place them in the 2005-7 bumper?
AFAIK the visible parts should be plug&play, but the non-visible parts of course need modifying?

I believe it should work. Not sure if the mounting points for the fogs are the same.
Another idea is to get a S8 cover and two fog light covers. The actual fog lights are the same. That is what I did with my 09 W12.

That does look sharp. I forgot how much I hate the US regulated side markers on the bumper though. Not something I am looking forward to changing when I bring the car back.

TSHong, are U sure that the S8 fog covers will fit a NON-S bumper?
The NON-S bumpers have 4 fins on the covers while S has only 3 fins.
And do the fog lights on the S-line bumper really mount to the covers, not to the bumper itself like in the rest?
The 2005-07 bumper does NOT accept the 2008-09 fog lights WITHOUT MODS, I'm 99% sure of that. But it's doable without replacing the whole bumper AFAIK. Just haven't seen any how-to guides...
I'm a like super-handy person, so if it's doable, I will do it. Just don't want to get into something that will look crap and won't work well.
My garage is full of all kinds of tools for every job (like a milloin power tools, wrenches.... anything to work on our cars from replacing wheels to overhauling even the most trickiest engines like our ones)

Yes, the fogs are the same part numbers if you look them up for the A8 and S8. The covers is the only difference since the S8 has a longer lip so it has a larger cover. I was talking about finding a S8 front cover because it looks better in my opinion. A S8 fog cover will not fit a A8 front bumper.
