Fan is running hard

I have noticed when I am driving or when I parked my fan is running hard as if my AC is running. Has anyone else experienced this and what could be causing that? Temperature gauge is normal (middle) and it doesn't fluctuate.

I had that problem with mine . it was a g65 high presure switch on the condesor. Had to remove bumper to replace it. I had a code come up but I forgot what it was.

Thanks, I will see if I can get my mechanic to replace that. Hear is the VAG-COM read out...

that’s the code. You’ll need to replace the high pressure sensor on you ac condenser right behind the grille. Getting the bumper off is the hardest parts, then just unscrew the old one and install the new one.

yah that's the one i had. Look on you@ube for how to remove bumper. there's a good one by 3dogmonkey. the whole thing toke me about 3hrs., and I went slow to make sure I don't screw anything up.

😠😠 radiator collapsed

My mechanic told me that my radiator collapsed on one side and it wasn't as simple as that g65 sensor. They ordered the radiator and Audi didn't tell them that they would need a spider hose assembly (because the old way was a piss poor design) so, now I have to wait even longer for them to order that. $1000 I was not expecting to pay. I must admit this may be the major thing I am going to repair before I sell it. Not worth the trouble especially with a kid on the way, it was good while it lasted. Sorry for the venting.

When my radiator blew a hole during the "Polar Vortex" Winter six or so years ago, I bought a new radiator from my usual parts supplier dealer. The told me about the additional hoses I would need with the newer design radiator along with the TSB to add a hole to one of the shrouds.Everything worked perfectly. Sure, more money but it was necessary and it makes the refilling of the coolant system easier.

Fast forward four years; MsBally hits a new in box water heater on a highway at 50-60 MPH in a snow storm at night. Takes out the front end cosmetically and damages the AC Condenser, both cooling fans, the lock carrier and beds the radiator (but it does not leak). I was in another vehicle a mile ahead of her.

I bought a replacement front end from a junkyard in Florida and had it shipped. It had the older style radiator. Thank goodness I saved the original hoses as I would have been SOL and would have had to buy a new radiator.https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.aud...bc2669e571.jpg

Note, Some may ask why I didn't stop to warn her. It took me 10 seconds to process what I saw (I was in another lane) so I stopped and panic tried to call her. It was a rural area with.... no cell service.
