Here is part of the article. Now, remember this is over a 5 year period...

The super-duty Ford F450 has a five-year estimated repair cost of $1,295. Other large trucks such as the Dodge Ram 3500 and the Chevrolet Silverado 3500 clocked in at $1,282 and $1,094, respectively, for their five-year repair costs.

Also on our list of the most expensive non-luxury cars to repair are the Hummer H2, at $1,484; Hummer H3, at $1,244; Ford Mustang, at $1,201; Mini Cooper Convertible, at $1,093; Subaru Impreza, at $1,006; and GMC Yukon and Chrysler Pacifica, at $970 each.

The A8 comes in at $1,640. $400 more to fix than a Ford Mustang over a five year period?
No problem! I'd gladly pay that extra $100 per year and drive my Audi.

If you take those repair costs and factor them as a percentage of MSRP, the Audi A8 looks really good against all the cars listed. Of course a $78,000 car is going to cost more to repair than a $30,000 one. The quality of the materials of the parts alone would account for a large difference in costs. Not to mention the complexity and exclusivity of the A8 in terms of parts availabilty (no real aftermarket).

Not a well-thought out article.

HAving had a BMW 7 series from 2001-2007, the $1,640 quoted for the A8 seems like a bargain.

Default Yeah, right . . .

Having had more than $20k in repair bills for a 2001 Mercedes S-Class, I think they've overlooked a few things.
