Default Got a quote from a Dealer for my '04

Northern Blue '04 w/ 44,000mi.
premium stitch
19" 12-spoke
auto trunk
premium package
sport package.

It's got normal wear and tear, however it's never been in an accident (not even a love tap). I was going to trade it in and get a brilliant black/amaretto. They were only going to give me $43K+/- for mine and told me the one pay for a three year lease was a total of $49K (I hate payments). The selling price of the '06 is $79,190. I have somewhat of a problem with them wanting more cash from when I'm trading my '04 in for an '06 lease. Maybe I'm unrealistic but it seems on the surface that I should be getting a little money back or worst case break even.

By the way, they told me the residual on an '06 A8L three year lease (15Kmi./yr.) was 55%. Does that sound right?

Thoughts?

Yes, 55% is correct. Audi offers a .00185 Money Factor right now though to offest the lower residual.

Default Potsie, gotta be honest that is a very good offer for trade on your car.

Wholesale number for your car is $39,900 - 41,700 depending on the region.

The one pay with 15k per year doesn't look to bad, but they cannot really play much with the numbers as the MF is reduced compared to monthy pay. I think they showed you a few $k on the trade value. What is the cap cost on the new car?

Default Potsie - with a little help from friends on this list I got the dealer up to $49K...

but my car had a lot fewer miles than yours. Also, one dealer *really* wanted the car. He knew his clientele and thought he'd be able to sell it quickly. (And he did, indeed.) It's worth it to shop your car around to different dealers, if my experience is any indication.

Good luck!

Default Audi A8L values drop faster than bad internet stocks...

I'm amazed at how fast this car drops in value. I love it but might have to look elsewhere for the next lux sedan. Its too bad.

24 months old in June, 22k miles and looking at $42K on a trade... damn!!

Default Re: Got a quote from a Dealer for my '04

I'm interested in exchanging my leased 2004 A8 for a 2006.
I ordered the car before it was in the showroom and before all the options were available. There are new options I'd like to have.

How much of a hit will I take if I re-lease early?
Keep in mind my lease payment is expected to increase, is this an incentive for Audi to negotiate or don't they care?
