Default Heated/Vented seat controls on driver side control both sides

Hi,

Strange problem:

When turning on the heated seats or vented seats with the drivers side controls, both seats are heated or vented. Other settings are strictly working on the correct side. When using the passenger side, they don't work.

I can access both control modules with vagcom, and they have a different coding.. So they know which side they are..

Anyone came around this before?

greetings,
Erik

If I recall correctly, the passenger side seat heater will not turn on unless someone is sitting in the seat.

When I used it for my optional fast food keep warm function on the way home, it would still warm up the seat on mine.

For OP, not specific to seats, but sometimes folks have posted about the settings being completely reversed, even if settings are different from side to side. It's been a long time, but can you see the seat settings on the MMI display like other HVAC stuff? If so, is it displaying correctly even what you are doing with the controls aren't correct as far as actual functioning?

My pizza warmer stays on for 10 minutes if the passenger seat is unoccupied.

I found coding for "low seat heat" on/off in VCDS, can't imagine what it means.

Hi,

Controls are working as they should. Images on MMI are correct, lights on the ***** are correct. Strange part is.. setting the seat ventilation with the drivers button, turns on both front seat ventilations. Pressing the passenger site button, nothing happens (besides the controles on the screen etc showing the right things)..

There is HVAC setting called "sync" or similar. Maybe that is turned on? Pressing and holding in the HVAC temp **** will also enable sync mode. Just a SWAG.
