Every time I turn on or off the heated/ventilated seats - the Climate Control turns on!?! I've never seen this with any other vehicle, the seat vent/heat has always been a separate feature.

Is this normal Audi procedure?

I don't recall on this any more, but frankly that may be a band aid for its somewhat anemic set up. Under the seat if you ever look is what is now a now a $0.50 pancake fan from a twenty year old desktop PC. It just sucks ambient air and blows into seat. So conditioning that air with HVAC perhaps helps. It is an improvement over nothing for sure, but from owning both D3 and D4 with it, D4 set up is more satisfying. That's even though D4 simplified to only 3 total settings for either heat or cool on seats like other newer Audi's across model range. D3 set up is not remotely like the ones where you can feel noticeably cool air coming out of the perforated holes.

Mine does the same and drives me crazy! I asked a while ago can it be coded to remove this, but unfortunately no one responded.

I swear my beige one used to do that, so I'd just turn the seat heat/vent back on and they'd come on without the whole system coming on, and now it (seat heat/vent) stays on when I turn off CC. SSP says the seats stay on w/climate control off. , but it was written in 2002 so VWAG -Varies Wildly And Greatly.

if you turn the Climate control off again, the seat fan will remain on.

Gotta ask, why in the world would you ever want the heated/ventilated seat on without the HVAC on? Are you a cab driver or something? You know the ones; you get in the cab and it stinks of the guy's piquant ethnic food tinged body odor, it's all fogged up inside and he has the HVAC off! Why, just why? It's so gross.

I've used both without HVAC running. Feels nice on a sore back, and if the temperature doesn't warrant the need for climate control, I don't use it.

I have the same function, but I think what coolname and I are referring to is the fact whenever you go to make any adjustment to the heated/ventilated seats the climate control turns on, then you have to shut the cc back off again.

yES I am driver of cab. i like to keep seat heat on in summer so when I get up, ******* slowly peeeeeels away from my wood bead seatcover. it gives me great pleasures! Perhaps you, to, shouild try, for to make you less grouchy until you are delivered your 27 wirgins!

Yes I hab considder reversing wires to fan to suck not blow (in my country I am ellectric enginear) that way pASSengers could more completely enjoy these floral emissios as you do, my friend! In my country, the air is full of feces, oh how I miss.

(The real answer is to keep the seat fan on with A/C off while doing VCDS stuff in the hundred degree heat w/engine off).
