Calling for Jakematic... Input please
Hello Jake,
I'm supposed to put this on the D4 forum, but you seems to be here more often.
I saw a D4 "Not so pretty" as D3 people would say on the freeway yesterday. I looked at Craigslist last night and found this one which I really like. This one seems to have all the options I like to have - massage seats - side assist - Pano roof...
I looked at the 2012 price and options and I can't tell if it has the full leather with Alcantera headliner package.
I'm going to try to get the family to test drive this car, but do you think something is wrong with the car? The price seems low.
Clean title doesn't mean it hasn't been in any accidents.
Added all options listed ~ $92k.
Thanks,
Louis
PS: It's a long shot to get my wife to agree to this one, because I promised to keep the D3 for at least 5 years and it's only been 1 1/2.

Hi Louis !
I'm on both... it's just a lot quieter over there
It's definitely got Alcantara and looks like full leather to me.
See those diamond stitch seats- that's either a Sport model or an Exclusive, probably Sport.
The price seemed a little high to me until I looked at the options.
We're getting guys buying 2011 and 2012's in the $40k range.
Definitely check it out, I would.
Beautiful color combo too.
Also post over in D4 and let derf have a look - he can tell you for sure on the sport diff.

Thanks Jake... It's gone
Yes, I do like the color combination. The mileage is low and the price seems good. What year does the distance sensor exist (brakes automatically applied when the car getting too close for comfort :-)) as an option or standard on D4? I really like that, it's safe. I do also like the side assist.
Well, I'm glad you let me know people are getting these nice cars for $40k range. How's the reliability with your car?
I've been enjoying the D3 without any problems so far (23k miles already).
It does look like I'll have to take my time and find the fully loaded one with a great price.
With a fully loaded D4, there's not much I have to retrofit... :-)
Thanks again,
Louis

If a D4 has ACC it will apply Audi Braking Guard as set in the MMI.
Have a look at some of the video tutorials here: Audi Video Help & Tutorials | Audi USA
My D4 has been ultra-reliable.
We actually haven't seen many cases at all of problems with them yet.
They pretty much come fully loaded, with only a very few options to add
My big upgrade was to add a Euro tag holder lol
I've been looking at moving to a 2015 and they are even easier to configure.
Not much to do with VCDS either, mine just has the needle sweep and VIM.
I've got a bunch of movies on the SD cards and a couple on the hard drive along with a ton of music.
I keep a HEX-NET attached and just scan it every once in awhile to check things are still OK
Having WiFi hotspot in the car is nice for colleagues and customers too...
