Default Help kessy unit 2005 A8L

Hello everyone I have a 2005 Audi A8L 4.2 I知 sure this topic has probably came up on the form before so here I I知 starving for knowledge. I work for a Aftermarket Perfomance company called vance & hines as a design engineer for the Harley Davidson race team so I travel nonstop. 哲o life The A8 is always sitting at the airport in the weather I flew out of Punta Gorda Florida in April of 2018 flew back in last weekend and had to get the car towed back to my house with a no start issue. I located my old crusty trusty dell laptop from back in my euro tuner days updated my vcds software ran a scan and this is what I found after digging into the car rain water took out the kessy unit under the driver side seat. I致e been out of the game on the euro side for long time my first question is does anyone clone the kessy anymore if so who where ? Question number two has their been any aftermarket company痴 in the past 10 years thats develop software that you can purchase to program the 93C86 EEPROM chip in the kessy unit? Any feedback would help on the cheapest easiest route to follow with the kessy. I値l post pictures of the unit Thanks

As far as programming or even reading the 93C86 on the board, I have had no luck doing so, on the board gives incorrect info, you can either remove the chip and solder it onto the replacement KESSY, be sure to get the exact KESSY part number wise that you have now, and MOST importantly be aware of the orientation of the dot (dimple) on the chip for prong #1,
your other option is to remove the 93C86 and put it into the reader and wright that info into a new 93C86 chip.

Default Thanks for your response

I wasn稚 aware that you could just swap the chip I guess that would be common sense if it痴 the same kessy part ## same box just deferent codes.

Meaning make sure 100% that you put the chip on the board the same as removed, if you rotate it 180* it will not work, same when reading or writing, dimple is prong #1.
