Highest Mileage S8?

Hey all, just curious, my S8 just turned 309K miles and still going...what the highest mileage S8 out there?

That's incredible! What have you done to keep it running for so many miles? I'm assuming a ton of diligent maintenance :D I've got 66k on mine and am determined to have it last at least half as much as what you've done.

I have seen another one with 300k.for sale recently. Also saw couple with 250k. Majority seem to disappear at under 150k

That's impressive! What's your city:highway ration?

Impressive mileage. What repairs/maintenance have you done north of 150k miles?

Basarab you probably saw the one I purchased... have only had it for about a month. The Story: Had a 2008 S6 and loved it, but got an opportunity to get a 911 again, so sold it off. MISSED that V10, and was looking at S8s as well when I was first looking at the S6. Found this one locally on consignment. Car is a one-owner that was owned by a person using it as his main transportation around the state seeing clients. Has been meticulously maintained due to it being such an important vehicle (needing to be reliable) with many large things recently done late last year (timing chain, intake, water pump, shocks, etc.). PO purchased a 2014 S8 to replace it (and he may have been and still is a member, not sure..I have his contact info and will be reaching out...if you are reading this, the car is in good hands! :) ) I'm waiting to get all of the service records soon, so will let you guys what has been done to keep it going so long. I think a TON of highway miles has been the ticket.

It does need some sorting out, with rear brake pads, a motor mount, some suspension refreshing, and is throwing codes on the VCDS that show some electronics have gone south like the parking sensors and lock buttons on the door handles, and a large evap leak, (and some oil leaks) but nothing too scary. I wrench on these myself to an extent and am familiar with what it takes to keep them up to speed. the interior is almost perfect with really only some minor wear on the passenger bolster and a small tear in the driver's side. Homelink does not function, which I need to investigate, but the rest of the interior gadgets all work as intended. Admittedly, the hood and front need a repaint with a lot of rash, but no major dings, etc. I probably am crazy buying what may be the least expensive and highest mileage V10 S8, but I absolutely love it. I am going to start commuting an hour or more to work and wanted a comfortable and special car that I didn't mind putting a ton of miles on. My goal is to hit 500k!

Bravo and congratulations! I’m glad to see 1) photos of your car - I’m mildly surprised there’s not a “sticky” with Forum members photos of their cars and 2) that high mileage cars are still running strong. My 2004 Audi A8L had 175,000 (mostly carefree with the exception of a few electronic gremlins which started popping up) before I sold it and that was primarily because I wasn’t driving it much.

My 09 S8 had 94,000 miles when I got it - barely into “middle age” - and have since put on another 3,000 incredibly wonderful miles.

So cheers and here’s to longevity!

Thanks! i'm getting an oil analysis done on it (and the 911) and will hopefully know even more soon. Still pulls strong! For $9800 I couldn't go wrong!
