HorsePower Gains?
Iam looking into being chipped to gain more HP? i can get 20% off the price but, not sure what effect it will have on the car and also this was just a thought due to the discount, they told me it would be about 30hp? is this true and also GIAC would be providing it through AWE....? Is this the only optioni have? and or exhaust...? Possibly Kimbo if you know? or anyone else, thanks.....

Chipping yields greater result on turbocharged engines since you can...
...Jigger with the boost pressures, wastegate timing, etc. On normally aspirated cars like ours, chipping only yields modest gains. 30hp sounds reasonable.
I wouldn't bother.

There are a few companies that are claiming big gains for the D3 4.2 MPI
Which I can believe, but not without changing several things, including exhaust and air intake. One worthwhile mod, if anyone with some expertise would like to help with, would be a D2 S8 3 Stage intake manifold. That along with the other mods could easily yield close to the 380 - 400hp region.

i was thinking that 30hp, isnt that much really? do you think it will be felt in the lower end or at the top end of speed, also they said it would de-activate the speed limiter, which i think is 155??...not sure, comments welcome....

been contemplating trading in the D3 for a D2 S8 lately.
I understand the D2 has less electronic gadgetry but it still has a sweet engine. And I do not believe I would be losing signicant trunk space. I put an order in for the Q7 last week but now am hesitant. It seems like any first year model will have bugs. Maybe get the S8 and in a few years get an improved Q7, D3 S8, or new S6. What do you think?
