How do I know front rotor size
Hi,
This 06 A8L comes with 4E0 615 301P rotor in the from and nothing on the rear rotor but my best measurement leads to 310mm OD.
well, the 4E0 615 301P represent 360mm OD but lot of supplier's chart does not match with this but suggest 385mm for 06 MY.
Is it possible that this 06 MY did come with 385mm but installed 360mm during service?
Is there anyway I can find out what the size of original rotor?
Or, will 385mm rotor can fit on even the caliber was for 360mm?
Thanks

Well, one way is to use an obscure tool. They have a special big bucks Audi adapter for it that multiplies by 25.4:
Besides that, well, 385mm was used only on W12 and S8. They use same calipers as the 4.2, but brackets are different to deal with the larger rotors. I only know of one case where brackets were changed on a 4.2 to use the larger rotors--on Misha's car that still lives here on the board.

385mm on your W12 from the fleet listing. Looking at OP's post, it's not 100% clear to me which motor he has. I inferred 4.2, since rear rotors that he alludes to at 310 mm by some measurement would in fact be 335mm on a W12 or S8--that inch difference should be pretty obvious with Mr. Stanley. Motor answers the rotor size question in any case on a 1:1 correspondence. There were no "special performance" type optional brakes from factory, other than Euro only CCB's. If someone modded a 4.2 (like Misha did) by changing the caliper brackets on a now dozen year old car with 3-5 owners not uncommonly, then measuring it in field is needed. 99%+ probably still stock though for an A8.
