Default HVAC not showing on MMI after 4610 upgrade

According to what I have read, after the upgrade to 4610, something has to be recoded for the HVAC to display on the MMI. Can anyone provide some details?

I did this update to our 2006 C6. Same issue. There was loss of some functionality with one of the SETUP buttons and features disappeared.

In our car I had to add 32 back to one of the adaptation values via the VCDS cable.

You can restore all functions, including HVAC menu, using the hidden green menu. Hold setup and car buttons together for a few seconds and the hidden menu should show up. There is a menu called "DIAG SETTINGS" if I remember correctly. Check what ever menu you want to enable from the list, save settings at the bottom, then restart MMI.

I went through the green menu DIAG Settings and Air Conditioning is checked on..

Oddly enough the 2006 does not have this problem. Only the 08 has the issue.

Mine is a 2006 A8L and I lost those functions after the update but didn't realize that was the cause. So hidden green menu, Diag Settings, then check the Air Conditioning box, Then reset is all I need to get the function back?

Usually. I won't commit to anything definitive when it comes to this.

Anyone have any ideas?

I do recall, either an adaptation option or coding option in the HVAC module that must be activated using VCDS. If you post your coding for the control head and HVAC I can double check it with mine.

'jlbell', you're correct in your assumption it's an adaptation value. Consequently, the Coding for the the Control Head and HVAC on their own isn't good enough, although worth checking; I believe the A/C option is set in Adaptation Channel 11 in the Control Head.
