both mirrors up, for a car wash I suppose, or tight parking. What other little niceties am I missing?

I assume you know about the small "visor" behind the center mirror?

Don't forget about the button up by the rearview mirror that turns the ambient lighting on/off. And the fact that the sunshades extend.

Default I assume this works on a D3 as well: set side mirror selector to right mirror, select reverse gear.

This will turn the passenger side mirror downward so you have a better view of the side curb when backing the car into a parking spot.

If you set the mirror **** to the right mirror, it adjusts down to the tire when you shift to reverse.

Default Headlight switch

Set to "off", press switch lever inward, keep pressed in and turn clockwise (will only go about 1/2 a "notch", then pull outward. The whole assembly can be removed from the dash.

Silly, I know.

Default Holding the climate control on/off button in after turning the car off keeps the heat running

Hold it until the settings show up again. It will run for about half an hour. It's the same as the "rest" feature on a Mercedes and is really nice in this cold weather.
