Default I'm finally making the jump from D2 to D3 4.2 SWB, after 5 years.

Ok, the deposit is paid and it's being prep'd by the Audi dealership, ready for me to pick up after the easter hols. '05 model year (registered July '04) in Ebony black metalic with silver grey Valcona leather. I searched for a while (as we all do)to find one with the options that I wanted and in top condition, and I'll try to list what it has... I'm in the UK, so I'm not sure which of this lot is optional in the US.
Comfort seats with heating, ventilation and massage, keyless entry with fingerprint start, adaptive lights, electric rear blind and side blinds, auto dimming mirrors, additional leather pack 2, additional aluminium pack, alcantara headlining, 9J x 20" nine spoke alloys with 275/35 tyres, sports adaptive suspension, TV reception, adaptive cruise, auto lights, ambience interior lighting, sunroof, phone in armrest, voice control, rear entertainment with screens in headrests, DVD player, cordless headphones, 4 zone climate and Bose sound. I think that's everything. 37,000 miles on the clock with one owner. To say I can't wait is an understatement. Once I've picked it up and had a play I'll post pics and tell you what I think of the D3 experience.

On the whole it could not have been a better ride thanks Sislam. The usual fuel pump and thermostat failure, lower control arms replaced, but that's about it over the 150,000 miles. To be honest, the D2 still looks and drives great. You would not believe that it has done the miles it has. Part of me is sad to say goodbye to it as it has served me so well, but the time has finally come to move onwards and upwards. I hope this one treats me as well.

Not even a sniff of an issue, I'm glad to say. It shifts, pulls and sounds as it did when I got it. Amazing when I read what some people have been through. It was a real gem of a car for me.

Default What year was it...

2000 and above did not have much tranny issues. All Audis have the same Tranny as a BMW. BMWs dont have much issues because of different coding and software im told by independant mechanics.

You, V8 must have had a newer audi...i heard 2002s and 03s never had an issue. Also notice most tranny issues are in American configured tranny cars. Im just very curious why Audis have more tranny issues than BMWs and Mercs. What year was your audi?

My former '00 with 116K had no discernable tranny issues. Luck?
