I'm going from an '05 A8L to an '07 A8 SWB with Sport Package. Has anyone else done the same?
My new car will be ready at the end of next week. I am excited. The '07 seemed a bit quicker and tighter when I test drove it last fall, but I haven't driven the A8 with the new engine and transmission for any prolonged period of time. Have any other members had the opportunity to experience the difference? By the way, next week is I become a 3 Audi family when my wife trades her Sequoia for a Q7. My son has an '06 A4 that has also been great.

Yes. I'm most interested in how you felt about the difference in acceleration and...
the ride characteristics of the SWB vs LWB A8. I'd appreciate your input Geordie.

I've driven SWB and LWB back to back,
my LWB had Sport suspension, the SWB did not. I didn't feel any significant difference in acceleration. The ride seemed slightly firmer in the Sport suspension car, although cornering didn't really feel that different.
If I want to feel a difference in acceleration, I step into my Coupe.
If I want to feel a difference in acceleration, I step into my Coupe.

Which six-speed transmission did you choose, steptronic (BMW's manumatic, of course) or stick?
Do you have idrive (a together only option with DVD the navigation system on the current 3 Series)? If so, how does it compare to MMI and DVD nav in the current A8/A8L? Disregarding low life Audi dealers and good to excellent BMW dealers, of course.
