Is it important to hit the 5000 mile service
Here is the problem. I'm short of 5000 miles by about 300 miles. I've got a trip where i'll put probably 800 miles on my A8 putting about 500 miles over the 5000 mark.
I really enjoyed my purchase experience with the dealer I used and want to make sure they get the service done too. If the sales was anything like the service it should be awsome.
So if i go over 5000 before i bring it in is it really that much of a problem? There is no real way i can avoid this except by using another dealer which i'm wary of.
Thoughts? Also using the search button i found that the 5000 mile service could take up to a week. I've had ZERO problems with this car. Really a true test of the quality of the car.
Really wish they would let us have some TDI's in this country. I saw a ton of Audi TDI's in europe and man where they fast and clean. Sigh oh well.
Thanks for the help. By the way I got it tinted at Art of Tint? in nyc and it was awsome.

Go ahead and schedule your service before your trip.
Your service dept. can get it done in a day and it's so much easier than trying to find another place to have it serviced while on the road. I ran into this while 2100 miles from home, the VW dealer wouldn't touch my car and there was only one Audi dealer in the entire state!
Have a good trip =)

Maybe up to a week to schedule an appt
Talk with the service dept and get an advisor. He should tell you how long that service should take. At worst the car may be held overnight. No problem if you bring you car in afterwards.

Only for the first half of this week
Then it's off to the land of scattered sunny breaks to prep for snapping the plane together. Just a couple of months or so on the road ;-)
