Default Installed Laminex on headlights

Doesn't cover the light all the way to the edges.
I read in their website it offered UV protection but the instructions say to apply their UV protectant to the film after installation.
I didn't like that.
I will follow up with them.

Zoom in and see top edge of protection film does not go all the way to the hood edge.
I installed my film from the lower edge upwards.

...And at least in my case that top edge is the first area that begins to decompose from sunlight. Installation pretty easy? Is the adhesive somewhat repositionable?
thx,
Tom

I wouldn't sweat it. Looks like you did a good job on the install. 999 out of 1000 wouldn't even notice you have the film on there.

I installed it so the plastic does not begin to yellow prematurely.
So the little strip that is not protected is important because it will end up as a yellow faded strip at that spot.

The film is is easy to reposition. During install you spray a mist of water and you can pull back and reposition. Just don't get your fingerprints on the sticky side.

I think the film they sell fits the 2004-2005 headlight perfectly and was not cut for the facelift lights.
I sent pics to them to see the issue.

They'll probably make you beta tester for a new pattern and send you a free set!

Thanks for the answer on installation. I've been meaning to install this every time I polish out each car's lights, but I'm too cheap and procrastination prone. I can always buff them again, right? I'll probably polish right through the lens eventually.

Any answer from them on the UV resistance?

You guys should really look into Xpel Ultimate self healing paint protection film. Works amazing on headlights and you can order it pretty big sizes to custom fit your headlights. Just apply it as you did with the laminex and use an x-acto knife to cut the edge where you like. (Much better than leaving the edges of the headlight unprotected from the road and UV rays of the sun)

Also, it has a 10 year warranty against, yellowing, cracking, peeling, staining, and hazing.

Any news on these?I've got one car that needs the "cartaract" treatment badly, and one that's just starting to fog...

I got a new package from them with an oversized piece for both headlights.

believe it or not, I have still not installed it as yet.

I will need to peel off the old one, and buff the lights again before installing the new oversized one.
