My A8 advocate told me the retrofit kit was "coming soon" but also that it
"Would be a little bit different to the factory-fit one", according to information he's had form Audi UK.
This makes me think the retro-fit is a very lightly modified Denison Gateway 500 rather than a full AMI.
A guy I know in the UK has retro-fitted AMI, and says it was easy enough physically, and he has a source for MMI update disks, so that was not a problem. He did say it was a bit buggy though, and sometimes misbehaves when changing playlists or some such.
