This is how I removed my glovebox.
Most of people here use VCDS, why don't you try it and let us know how it works. If I have to buy something for $45, I rather buy ELM327, cheaper and have tons of software for pulling codes and reset basic. Again, if you plan to use Audi, VW, try to get a used VCDS full version, it's a good tool. I wouldn't buy license for 1 or 2 cars. I think the marketing people there have HUB syndrome.
