Okay, then I agree with the idea it's light bleeding through, probably from a fault in the mold or the sealing.

Yes, yes I do, but I did not feel like changing them at the moment so I picked up this while I wait to tear the license plate surround off to find how water is still getting into the trunk lid itself after I just replace all 4 tail lights.....
