Just got my Black 2004 A8L, few stupid questions
Just finished at the auction and picked up a 60K mile car for very reasonable money. The car is ultra clean and i am not worried much about mileage. I already own a VAG com and my brother has had great luck with my former A6.
The service history is impeccable and all documented, i was shocked.
Anyways, I need to know where to get the navi disc, it is missing.
Also does the MMI have a safe mode (ie if the battery dies) because i didnt find a radio code in the paperwork.
Can i use a phatbox with the mmi.
Will the cd player play mp3 or dvds (doesnt look like it according to the manual)
It has parktronic, solar, 18 inch wheels (wish it had the 19s) and i think a winter and or comfort package. I really went in blind as to options.
This will be a much better daily driver than my S4 and soon someone else can enjoy doing a B5 S4 stage III project, i never got started.

No such thing as a stupid question - well that's not true but it is in your case!
Congratulations on your acquisition.
The navi disc update is available from Navteq - see link. You may want to check with others on the board about the need to update the MMI software / firmware before installing
MMI safe mode (ie if the battery dies) - there is no radio as such to remove (it is a module) so there is no code. The module uses fiberoptic communication so cannot be used elsewhere

I have made cd's from my Itunes folder on the computer and the cd player plays them fine. I do not know of a way to play an i pod or MP3 player in an 04 A8L.
