Just saw a new 2005 A6 4.2 at my dealer
Drove by my dealer today and they have a nice black Launch Edition A6 4.2 quattro. The new nose still looks odd to me, but so do the new BMW 5 series with the Pontiac-like front ends. The new nose was designed for euro tags only, a large US front tag would ruin the look. The new rear end has a muted trunk lid brow that is reminiscent of the new BMWs but is less pronounced (I think it looks good). This car was Howard Stern-ready with Sirius sat radio integrated with the MMI.
This car comes with Bluetooth support fully integrated with the MMI. The car automatically recognized the phone as soon as the sales guy got in the car with the phone in his shirt pocket. It has the same MMI telephone screen design as the Euro models; got to demo the voice recognition - it is awesome. They were using a Sony Ericsson T637 (one of the preferred phones for which an armrest charging adapter is available) in the demo, the car could synch with the phonebook from the phone.

Actually the U.S tag does not look too bad on it as it is just a tiny bit larger in the middle part of the front grille.
I have the T616 and it works perfect.
Dealers should have a list of the Bluetooth equipped phone that will work with the car as well as the craddles available for these same phones through dealerships.

Having those "new noses" pass by you on the road is pretty stunning!
Out here there are already several of them on the roads and it looks amazing, especially when on the move.
I think it really works esthetically speaking and it does make Audi more recognizable as a brand. Looks sleek and exclusive to me.
Can't wait to see it on the rest of the line up. Imagine that TT, cab, mmmmm :-)

I really am falling in love with this car. . . . . and you are right. . .
putting a State license on the front would absolutley ruin it's appearance. In this State, you would be thrown in jail about the second time they caught you without one.. . . damn.

Let's refer to "prior" Audi front-ends as "moustached" and the
new frontends as "goated". Kinda like upper lip hair with chin hair added.
