What all chips need to be swapped
My kessy got water damage so I ordered the same exact one # 4E0 909 131 D what chips do I need to swap out to clone it. ? I’ve asked on other forms but it seems to be top secret! I could use a little help thanks
if you want to clone it read back in this thread , get same ver. or later kessy.
or if you have friendly audi dealer who will code a used unit ( not likely)
I cloned mine, its not that hard. hundred or so for the chip reader plus price of used kessy
The chip can be swapped from old to new (used ) kessy but unless you are good at electronics it is not easy,

Open Kessy module and locate 93C86 EEPROM. Clip CarProg A6 adapter on it and read information from Kessy with CarProg. Use only new transponder TP-36C (or new original key) and program it with VAG-COM or dealer tool (VAS5051 or simmilar).
Use these instructios for Touareg key programming with VAG-COM

Basically read this chip on your replacement kessy with CarProg A6 adapter on it, save it just in case you want to restore it back later.\
Read and save your old kessy info then write it yo your new one.
And should be good to go

4E0907181C replaced 4E0909131
4E0907181C replaced 4E0909131 series
Audi no longer sells the 4E0909131 series kessy. From posts of people cloning the kessy, " The exact part # or newer will work".
Has anyone have any experience with the 4E0907181C replacing the 4E0909131's

just thinking back.
I was buying used kesssy's
They all worked for the ignition and starting part.
just the advanced key part I had trouble with some of them ,
Might have even been faulty mossfits in some of them.
