replace start-stop button
Hi everybody
one week ago I decided to replace the old "start-stop switch" (4E1905217) with a "start-stop switch with fingerprint identification system" (4E1905218) ....
The flat contact housing (4A0972883) is identical for the both start-stop switches, so the replacement was easy, without any adaptation for wires.

After replacement, the message on MMI / user : error connection
A friend who has VCDS check my car and told me that "the MMI doesn't see the module for fingerprint (J589) or probably this module doesn't exist on my car" but I check myself on internet and the module is included in the "start-stop fingerprint switch":

The new switch (with fingerprint) may be defective ? or have "component protection" ?
Does anybody know how to fix it ?
Thanks in advance

I'd spend my money on a remote starter instead. Far more useful than keyless entry/start will ever be...
XpressKit.com - Interfacing the Past, Present and Future. do plug and play remote start interface modules for the A8.

Everything I have read says that for remote start to theoretically work you would basically be making your car a thief's dream as the key has to be in the car for it to start. So you'd need to hide a key in your car which would allow anyone anywhere at any time to just hop in and steal it.
