at times with the lights set to auto, I will turn the ignition off and remove the key...the parking lights will stay turned on and the car will be beeping at me like i left the lights on... but i didnt, and the light **** will have no effect if i turn the light to off they still stay on. they will not turn off until i put the key back in the ignition and restart the car and then turn it off again.

Sounds like you left the turn signal on
IIRC leaving the turn signal on when turning off the car will leave one side's parking lights on (side depends on which turn signal was left on). This is a european feature for when they park on the sidewalk at night ;-)

Re: Light wont turn off
i have the SAME problem... Plano 4.2, has nothing to do with turn signals... low beams stay ON. Nothing you can do turns them off except driving again for a while...
I had Boardwalk check it out but they could not replicate it.

Then it's not the same problem, khogz had the parking lights stay on
Which happens when the turn signal is left on when the car is turned off.
Does the car beep at you when you exit? I assume this doesn't happen everytime; only occasionally?
Give a shot at turning your car off (remove the key too?)with the turn signal on and see if that is what you have experienced or is different.

will do
but this is different I think. my LIGHTS stay on... just as if the car were running...
i'll try some things next time and report back
... or I may just buy an 07
that may be less frustrating....
