Default Major throttle problem!

car is stuck in limp mode. Wont go past 20mph. I have an issue with the car idling from 900-1500 and climbing to 2000-3000 sometimes while in park.
I have three codes.

P1542 AUDI - Throttle Actuation Potentiometer Range/Performance

P1568 AUDI - Idle Speed Control Throttle Position Mechanical Malfunction

P1579 AUDI - Throttle Control Unit Basic Setting

Its an 04 a8l, The funny thing is is that it only did this after I had my car in the car wash. Was wondering if something may have happened there. What should I check next? I do have an obdeleven scanner to read live data.

Did you take off the beauty covers where the cabin air intake is/brake master cylinder and inspect for water?

I would start poking around with OB eleven and see what the throttle position sensor says when the gas pedal is not depressed and then depress it. I imagine something is very wet. And you might need to adapt it.

As suggested above, look for water. then perform the throtttle body alignment

Yeah, my first worry is cowl drains, but while I know they can cause issue if clogged, I'm not 100% sure where they overflow to.

I ended up taking off the throttlebody and cleaning it with brake cleaner. Didn’t seem very dirty but cleaned it anyway. Put on everything and started the car and it did the same thing. Did the re-learn process through the OBD 11 and runs pretty smooth now and got a little bit more torque it feels like. Do you think water got in there? Or do you think it just needed re-learned? How do you clean the Ducts? Any writeups?

Man, that's crazy. I'm going to do that tomorrow and also my sunroof drain. On the link you posted it wasn't very specific as to what the procedure is and the pictures of where I need to clean out I'm still confused on. Any help?

The thread I linked you includes all the information and diagrams you need. If you look at your own car, you should be able to see what needs to be done pretty easily, those drains are in no way complicated, I promise! There really isn't a good way to take pictures of anything more helpful than what the diagram already shows you.

No, the box doesn't need to come out. They will be at the low point of the structure everything is mounted in there. The diagrams are accurate.
