Default Misfire - Cylinder 8: Fixed

Hello members,

Wanted to share a recent experience I had. Recently hit 200k on my pre FSI 2005 4.2 A8. Never once have I had a check engine light on this car until I just surpassed 200k. Turned the car on, on Christmas to warm it up before leaving family's house to come out to the car with the check engine light on. Car ran just fine on the way home. Next day while waiting at the airport it started "chugging" a little bit. Finally got some time to do a scan, and it came up with Misfire on Cylinder 8 - using the OBD2 scanner section of VCDS. I purchased a new ignition coil from the dealer - $31.50, and a new NGK spark plug. Replaced them and now the car is working just like normal. For reference, I replaced all spark plugs 20k miles ago and the plug looked fine, and the last time all the ignition coils were replaced were at the recall at 40k miles years back. Just wanted to share my experience in the event anyone else comes across this issue.
