MMI 2G

Hey A team I'm having a problem getting to my green screen. I read and watched videos that say do the same thing. Press and hold setup and hold car and wait for it to appear. When I do it I just get the adaptive suspension screen. Am I missing something. 2008 A8L

Without memorizing button sequences, do you mean the "hidden" menu? ...

or, do you mean the basic MMI reset? I think you are probably saying the hidden menu. If so, don't you first have to check the magic box for that via VAG COM/VCDS to get it enabled in the first place?

Yep must turn it in with VCDS then do the button sequence. Without activating it in VCDS it won't work. Can't recall the button sequence, but just search hidden menu and it will tell you the sequence. I know you're new to the A8, but a VCDS cable is a must with these cars. Should be one of your first purchases after owning an Audi or VW.

Thanks for the tip about the cable. Is it safe to grab one from ebay or is it a preferred spot to get them from? I know they're probably a lot of knock off ones, don't want to buy a faulty cable that will fail in the process of doing anyhing
