S8 Belly pan/Undertray
Hi, Can someone please recommend ANY alternative way to buy belly pan for S8 D3? They share those with a W12 and getting the OEM one from Audi costs 500 eur at least! I'm looking for any replacements for a long time now and can't find anything...
Thanks

I fixed my belly pan using kevlar fabric, epoxy, and plastic paint. It was cracked and damaged. New replacement is stupid expensive. I also riveted the cooling vents to the pan instead of factory plastic welds.

Unfortunately my pan is probably beyond saving.. I hit a branch on the road and it shredded part of the belly pan. I was searching for anyone selling even cnc aluminium pans, but all I could find was for the 4.2 models, no one is making them for S8.

Will a 4.2 one not fit? What are the differences? Can you not just get a 4.2 one and modify it to suit? It’s only a bit of sheet plastic. It’s very easy to cut.

I have both cars and both belly pans. The W12 is a two piece and the holes don’t line up with the S8 underneath. I have an s8 belly pan but the fit is off unless it’s a 4.2. It fits but make a bulge at the bottom, that why tried fitting the W12 belly pan on the S8. The 4.2 might actually work

Buy a cheap one from a Slovic customer. It's thin and flexible. Once it arrives, clean the manufacturing residue, etc with lacquer thinner. Rough it up with sandpaper and brush on fiberglass resin, then lay fiberglass cloth and re-coat it with more resin. This will make it stiffer, stronger. Repeat resin and fiberglass cloth as needed.

You bought a luxury vehicle. It comes with luxury vehicle parts prices. Buy the new OEM one and forget about it for the rest of your ownership of the car.

Aside from those two vent grilles, it’s identical to a V8 belly pan. So you could either cut vent slots in the same place on a V8 pan, or cut your old vents out and glue/screw them into appropriate cutouts in a V8 belly pan.
Heck, you could just put a standard v8 pan on and be done with it. Those extra grilles would only make a difference in extreme circumstances. Like towing uphill at full load in Death Valley, or sustained full throttle mid-summer Autobahn v-max runs.
