Can't find them. I am out of business. If you PM me your email I will send you PDF with instructions.

I was selling that set for $35. Main gear was stainless steel and the other two brass. Their "why plastic" explanation is BS. They are saving money using cheep material, probably worst than the original. But they have fancy site. Are you buying that?

I was being a little sarcastic. There are a lot of people selling metal gears but only one selling plastic.

Default MMI screen fail

So, the screen on my MMI failed to open, and I found this thread, with the great write-up by mishar. It is mentioned a pdf by him, that describes the removal of trim etc. I dunno how to get in contact with him, so if anyone can help - either by suggesting how to contact him, or if you can point me towards the instructions for removal of the trim, so I can access the mechanism, I'd be grateful!

Regards, Atle

If I can remember correctly from memory.
use a trim removal tool to pry out the thin middle trim running from the mmi screen across the top of the glove box. There is also a title section by the steering wheel. Under the trim are bolts that need to be removed.

Thank you for your replies, chokboywonda and PaulW! Very sorry to hear about mishar - he was truly an asset for this community.

I have ordered the gears and am waiting for those to arrive, and will then start to dismantle the necessary interior bits.

Hi! This is a marvelous guide but there are some steps that **I** feel like were skipped and now I'm super confused. I'm at the point where I just have to start inserting the axle but I see the next step already has it in fully, and here comes my conundrum: If the axle goes fully in, then the screen assembly simply won't shut fully. It goes to like 90% but not far enough that the lid could close on top of it. I only feel the resistance when the last 2cms of the axle go in. It kinda feels like it'll have to do something with the bigger plastic gear rail, but for the life of me I don't see what I missed. The axle wouldn't fully go in without lifting the screen assembly to do it but afterwards I just get the same result. Any ideas? Thank you!!!
