I can't tell which one this is and which one I need. I want to try an MMI update as I'm having a battery drain on my '04. Which one do I need after this one?

Looks like 1070. My 06 had 1190, this must be 04-05

Is there any updates after this one?

If everything works, leave it alone. The latest 4610, you need 3 CDs for this version. AB and 2 others.

I have a weird battery drain issue and from going through the search function This is a good place to start

Battery drain has nothing to do with software version imo.

Battery drain is often a faulty door handle, which usually throw a code. Do the lights around the shifter stay on more than a minute or so after you have locked the car? Software updates in some cars have been known to address issues with certain systems not wanting to go to sleep, but I'm not sure if the A8's updates ever addressed anything like that. Most of the time, you only need an update for the latest maps and to retrofit bluetooth.

Do you have a scanning tool like VCDS? That will help identify the battery drain issue. MMI version will not solve battery drain issue in most cases.

As stated, MMI version irrelevant to "battery drain." More generally, how do you know you don't just have a more basic "battery" issue?

15 years old big picture. Should be on about its 3rd battery by now. If current one more than 3 or 4 years old--or unknown--that is where I would start absent other diagnostic info like a quality (not OBDII generic junk) scan.

Besides door handles, alarm horn meltdown due to internal back up battery corrosion, and some MMI components (not the software, the hardware) are also known possible current leakage areas. Why you should scan if not the simple tired battery.
