I have tried to use the dedicated button on front dash, but no luck...tried every combination of key and button I can think of.
Maybe there is a fuse to pull during mid-swipe?

I am not sure but it was one of those. I remember that I needed help from my wife. You may try to force stop it. It should be designed to stop when it hits something. Than again who knows with Art.

Sunlight (ultraviolet light) exposure degrading the material is my totally uneducated guess.

Most SAE tests simulate four years of Florida/Desert Southwest sunlight exposure. Most actual sunlight exposure testing lasts four months during Summer season.

These cars are now quite old and have seen a lot of sunlight.
