Hey Guys. New to the forum so forgive me if im not doing something right.

I traded my BMW for an 2005 Audi A8L. The previous owner spray painted the tail lights pitch black (you literally couldnt see any light even in the dark) because he thought it was "cool".
I used carb cleaner and got the paint off, but was surprised that my tail lights were clear... Every other audi a8 i've seen the tail lights were red.. Anyone know why?? Is this a aftermarket light?? My left brake light says to be serviced on the guage cluster and occasionally works sometimes it does sometimes doesnt.

As you can see, they're clear.. The fog lights are white.. not red.. Something just isnt right. I searched online for maybe tail light "lenses" and I coudlnt find anything so i dont think they're removeable.. but I also cant find ANYYYY aftermarket tail lights..

I think the carb cleaner you used stripped the red colouring from the plastic. The inner lenses between the red outer lenses and the LED's are clear, the red is on the outside of the outer lenses. The solvent possibly removed the red.

Take the light out and check and clean the connections for the boards. The lenses crack and let in water and can short the plugs

I thought so too.. What's weird is that Every light i search online has no indents...

Those lights look like the red panel is completely missing. It looks like just the clear inner lens is left.

WOw. Lights are alot. I wish there was after market ones. Can't afford lights rn maybe in a few months lol
