My brand new second hand D3

I think I scored this one owner 08 A8L for a great deal. One owner, perfect maintenance history till 12/18 always at the same Audi dealer. I didnt want beige interior but the car was too clean and had the cooled/massage seats, AMI already installed, MMI updated to 4140 and a 2016 DVD Map. I just have to figure out why the blind spot isnt working. I will hook up my VAGCOM tomorrow and see what it says. Other than that it has all new control arms, new tires, new brakes, new shocks/struts, ignition coils, intake and valve cover gaskets and various other components.
Out of the 7 I went to see this was the best driving one and the tightest. Its also the only Black Cherry one I have seen. Just wish it had the nicer wheels.

Oh yeah, also gotta figure out why the sunroof (solar) makes a grinding noise. It moves, just gets noisy half way.

Black Cherry. Very cool and very unusual. Only have seen one, a 2007 W12 back in the day new on the showroom floor.

Nice car, I would be a little concerned why they sold the car after tons of money just spent on it. If I were the owner, I would drive for a while to depreciate the money I've just put in...
Cheers and enjoy,
Louis

Cleaned her up a bit, not that it was filthy but a little touch up, little cut and buff and shine it up. Next week my guy is going to do a 3 stage on it and get rid of all the swirls. Paints not nice enough to warrant a ceramic coating though.

Congrats, I have always like that black cheery pearl color.

Congrats on the A8. The sunroof grinding noise comes not from the sunroof itself but from the wind deflector motor. The wind deflector is speed dependent and moves up and down. You can access the motor by pulling down the light panel above the rearview mirror. Not much you can do about it beside changing the motor. Search the threads for some fixes.

My mistake, I had also made a thread on that issue but already resolved it. As suggested I just removed the deflectors motor. Took 4-5 minutes all in all.

For now I am focusing on the HVAC system. It seems my coils are veak in the heater valve. Not a stuck/dirty valve just a poor magnetic field on the coils so I ordered a whole unit and will just install the coils as it only takes a few minutes and I dont have to burp/fill the cooling system.
Open circuit on driver door bass speaker was when Audi replaced the window regulator they neglected to plug the speaker back in. lol
Other than that the blind spot/lane change does not work but I dont feel like removing the bumper and module to replace it, more so since it has to be re calibrated at Audi. Its not like the car has and bad blind spots and my neck works. LOLZ

I can hear the car pleading for some nice OEM 20" wheels........tring hard to ignore it but I dont know how much longer I can hold out.....
Daytime whoring....

Well the headlights were a tad hazzy so I am restoring those. Had my PDR guy remove all my door dings. Have some new wheels and tires on the way. Got it ceramic tinted and the regulator was bad so it scratched one window so I have a fresh regulator on the way and will have the window redone. All in all its coming along well. :)

Now its time to ditch the grandpa 18" wheels and throw on the new 20's. Hated those damn Sumitomo tires anyway.

Well this is proving to be a PITA. The front caliper brackets had to be clearenced about 2mm. After grinding them a tad I went ahead and polished the bracket which took a couple hours. LOL
