My key fob is incredibly weak, if it’s in my pocket, and about 5 feet from my car, it won’t even lock it unless I take it out of my pocket, and even out of my pocket the range on this thing is like maximum of 20 feet. Is this just an issue with my key or are they all like this?
Also looking for a new housing for my key fob but can’t find one exactly like mine. I’ve searched everywhere online but they all seem to be different.
Your key is std. D3. Look on eBay for case. Or, find the cleanest looking used one you can that is labelled as D3 A8/S8 and just swap over the internal electronics and the key blade.
Do you have a cell phone on you when testing/using the key? Try putting the phone aside, test again and report back.
Obviously be sure the battery is in decent shape. Little light opposite the metal blade opening button should illuminate when you push a function button.
Just tried without my phone and still doesn’t really work, and also I just changed the battery on it like a month ago because it kept saying something about the key isn’t in the vehicle. So after changing, it doesn’t do it as often, but it still does it every now and then.
The light doesnt light light on on my keys at all, and I even tried with a known good battery. Probably just need a new one or something $$$$
