New D5 Spotted WITHOUT Camo!!! (Thoughts?)
Here it is pretty much!
2018 Audi A8 caught without camo - Autoblog
Opinions? Thoughts? Love it? Hate it?
Do you think enough changed? It is reportedly going to be MASSIVELY different on the inside than the D4.
I posted this here in the D3 forum because the chrome strip that is running along the body, as well as the "butt" and it's lines/indentations remind me of the big butt on the D3 that we all love. I love the way the lights are connected in a simple straight line.
Another thing that sticks out to me alot is the rear doors. They are now connected and integrated into the rear wheel arches. This looks like it's going to add lots of room to the back seat, as well as making getting in/out easier in either Wheelbase configuration.
Also makes the car look larger. This particular car looks to be a LWB.
I believe this, like A8s before it, will pursue a clean, timeless, sleek design that will age wonderfully for decades to come. I CANNOT wait to see the interior and features.
(As long as they don't overdo it with gimmick electronics like the tablets and BS gesture control on the new 7 series. What a ridiculous joke.)

If this is indeed a SWB car.... holy crap! The L is going to be a leviathan...
With another 6+ inches added, it will rival a freakin' Rolls Royce or Maybach for size.

Looks like an L version to me. It's a much sleeker and nicer than the D4. I like the overall package but is it too little difference than the D4? Obviously the D series especially is not about flash as with the Audi brand so I would not mind driving it. I'm not a fan of the front lower valence treatments of all the new redesigns so far.

Who knows... It could be the standard wheelbase and perhaps there will be an extra Long version this time (just speculation).
I kinda like it. Like I said the lines toward the butt remind me of the D3. Something the D4 just didn't have.

I like the D3, I like the D4, and I think the D5 looks promising. My only concern is the front having potentially too sharp of edges and angles. Also, the interior is an unknown right now. I'll withhold judgement until I see one in person, though.
