Hello everybody, just wanted to introduce myself. I am crossing over most recently from a 04 A4 and prior to that a 01 A6 and now I just getting into a 05 A8 SWB Artic White w/ Sand Beige interior, 19', Cold Weather/Conveniece Package, XM, Parktronic (front and rear), Nav. It has 9800 miles from a dealership, CPO.

I am not picking the car up until Saturday and I will post pics then.

I do have 1 question (and please keep in mind I have no idea what a Vag-com is, never seen one, wouldn't know one if it was sitting next to me on the subway) (yea, I know a 3 car Audi owner and I am this clueless) but in regards to lowering the car, reading through some posts I see it can be done through the Vag-com. But what exactly do I tell the service guy to do? The salesperson told me that the lowering is done on the air suspension through the MMI. So I am confused how to go about doing it. There was a pic of Der Kimbo's car recently that looked pretty slammed, thats what I want the car to look like all the time. Could you please tell me how I can go about that? Thanks

Default Buy a lowering module to get that low...

VAG-COM is an interface that connects any PC to your car. Using the Ross-Tech software, you can make changes, scan codes, etc. The lowering fo the air suspension using this is very limited in its changes 20mm +/- approx.

Default It'll be an extremely uncomfortable ride if you slam the car.

Basic height adjustments are done through MMI: Raise, Normal, and Sport. What the Vag-com does is to trick the brain into thinking it's XXmm too high, and it'll then lower the car that way. I'm sure you can find someone in your area who can do it for you, or they run about $150 and you can learn to do it yourself.
